Background and Opinion Since the release of ChatGPT, Large Language Models (LLMs) of Generative AI (Gen AI, GAI) have had a rapid uptake across all fields, most notably in creative industries (writing, image, audio, and video generation in content production); in the health and pharmaceuticals industries (medtech), where large amounts of data can be analysed and synthesised, and insights drawn efficiently from the data; in life, earth and space sciences; military, transport and logistics; in myriad customer service applications across a vast array of business types, where customer communications are often repetitive; and in education, where the promise is to reduce the workloads of teachers and improve student learning outcomes.
